Oh dear, after two weeks with my family, I nearly started writing in German! Well the heading is German and I would translate it as “Let it begin”. Other suggestions?

I am sitting at Frankfurt Airport and miss Heathrow, especially T5 or T2. I should be in the air already on my way to Anchorage, but I am sitting on the floor instead. No announcements, no chairs, flight still showing as 14:35 departure, it is 14:45. Not convinced by this German performance.

I left my mum and sister at the passport control. They came all the way from Freiburg with me to send me off. Thank you, meine Schätzeles!

Lena took the photo when I went through the control. I think it looks like a CCTV recording that is used to alert people of a criminal on the loose: “Lisa Festerling was last seen at Frankfurt airport. Please inform police immediately and do not approach her.”

I hope they let me in at the other end!
