I bought a one way ticket to Alaska, quit my job and reduced my belongings to a backpack of 15kg (sorry no idea what this is in pounds or stones – wasn’t part of the Life-in-the-UK-test for the citizenship). I had to make real sacrifices: only three dresses, no high heals, no jeans, only one bikini etc.
The plan is to travel the Americas from top to bottom, from Alaska to Argentina. I will return the earlier of a) being bored or b) running of money. Wild card c) is to marry Mr Lancelotti in Vegas.
The rough route is:
Alaska
British Columbia
West Coast of U.S.A
Utah
Colorado
Chicago
Mexico
Cuba
Colombia
Brazil
Argentina
If money left: Chile, Peru, Panama, Costa Rica
I have a few fixed dates that I happily give up my “true independence” for:
14 July: arrival in Anchorage
19 – 25 July: hiking trip in the Wrangell St Elias National Park in Alaska
30 August: wedding in Vegas (not my own unless I have met Lancelotti by then)
10 September: my birthday
17 September: 2015 Chicago ITU Sprint Distance Triathlon World Championships – Team GB Age Group π
20 September: Flight from Chicago to Mexico City
8 October: Georgette meets me in Cancun
18 October: Flight from Cancun to Havana, Cuba.
7/8 November: Dad meets me in Bogota
11 January: Mum meets me in Benos Aires.
Thanks so much to Emily who set up this blog for me!
