Journey to Oz – Day 7

25 July 2015

Back to civilisation. First people since we got dropped at Lakina Glacier last Sunday. And a hot shower! Now I just need to wash my clothes when I get back to the city and I am as good as new.

We woke up at the base of Mount Donohue this morning to another blue sky and sunshine. It was warm when we went through the thicks of the basin, but a fresh, cold wind blew over the Root Glacier. It was an easy cross in comparison to Kennecott Glacier yesterday, about an hour vs 4.5hrs.

From Root Glacier it was an easy walk back to Kennecott village – finally wide trails. Jason raced ahead and me after him, so that we were back in no time. I think we were both eager to drop our Backpacks and get clean.

I finally found out about the Panorama function on my IPhone today! I should have had the iPhone training with Meera before I left.
